Changes to the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010

Changes to the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010
Posted on 01/22/2018
To comply with the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, the Robertson County Schools adopted a Wellness Implementation Guide.

The terms of this guide have shifted some of the past guidance on outside food being brought into school.

1. Homemade items will not be allowed at school for sharing at parties, birthdays, or other class celebrations.

2. Items brought in for parties, birthdays, and other class celebrations must be store bought and in their original, unopened container.

3.
Restaurant food not contained in a child's lunch box may be dropped off at school. All such food will be eaten in a designated location, and academic time will not be interrupted for food delivery.

These changes reflect stipulations of the act, not any administrator, school, or county.
